Fanorona

Fanorona is a traditional game from Madagascar. It is quite quick and brutal in the beginning and the end game is tracking down and capturing the remaining pieces.

It is most likely related to Alquerque brought down the eastern coast of Africa by Arab traders.

Personally I'm a fan of this game. It's nice and quick and there is something there that keeps me coming back.

- Captures are unique in that moving towards a piece captures all the pieces in that line

but also moving away from a piece captures all the pieces on that line.

I'll try to get a rulebook created for this at some point. If you seach online though there are several sites where you can find the rules.
